November 6, 2002 Arizona State Board of Medical Examiners 9545 E. Doubletree Ranch Road Scottsdale, AZ 85258 Re: Dr. Abe Saiz Dear Board Members, We the undersigned are employees of Havasu Regional Medical Center to Lake Havasu City, working in the Operating Room. We’re writing this letter to express our serious concerns about the suspension of Dr. Saiz' surgical privileges. As active participants in the ER suite, we are able to clearly and objectively view the surgeons we work with. In working so closely with them we are able to discern who is exceptional and who is marginal, and it is our opinion that Dr. Saiz is exceptional. As a collective group we feel that Dr. Saiz' skill and knowledge enable him to care for all off our more complex patients effectively and competently. The majority of us are considering what our course of action will be if anyone of us or our families require a general surgical procedure. The consensus at this time is that without Dr. Saiz, we would to elect to transfer to a metropolitan hospital. We are all aware that the Board takes action to improve the quality of care that our patients receive; however in this case we feel that by suspending Dr. Saiz's surgical privileges the medical care in our community has been seriously compromised. Our community will suffer in his absence and we urge you to reinstate his surgical privileges as swiftly as possible. We realize the many burdens placed on the Board however failure to resolve this matter expeditiously can only result in inconvenience and harm to our patient population. Should you have any questions ease do not hesitate to contact us. < Return To Dr. Saiz's Page |
